The SEND Reform 2026 white paper sets out a powerful vision for every child to achieve and thrive. But making this a reality goes beyond attainment. It requires a deep commitment to inclusion, belonging, social and emotional learning, and the adults who make this possible every day.
"Hamish & Milo gives them a group experience, being with other children who have had similar experiences. They realise they are not alone and you are explicitly teaching them the social and emotional skills so they become more aware and more empowered.”
Wicklea Academy in Bristol shares their story of Hamish & Milo, how the programmes were implemented and how the emotional language became embedded across their school.
“Hamish & Milo has had such a positive impact on our pupils. There’s a theme to suit every need. The children look forward to their sessions, and parents are really appreciative. It’s an invaluable resource that I would recommend to any school.”
Percy Shurmer Academy in Birmingham has embedded Hamish & Milo at the heart of its pastoral and wellbeing provision. Small nurture groups have helped children build confidence, friendships, and emotional language, with staff and parents noticing positive changes.
“Hamish & Milo has been transformative for many of the children who have taken part. We have seen noticeably calmer, more regulated, more confident children who are able to express their feelings to others. Parent feedback has also shown that children are able to transfer the skills that they have learned into their home settings, with comments around the lessened incidents of dysregulation at home, as well as better, more open relationships..."
Hamish & Milo is proud to announce a new partnership with the Bee-lieve Foundation, a charity committed to supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing through early intervention and school-based support.
“We’re not just supporting the children anymore, we’re growing together as families.” Hamish & Milo Families Together Programme is proving to be a powerful extension of the core Hamish & Milo Wellbeing Programme.
“The biggest impact of the Hamish & Milo Programme in school is the relationship building, the relationships between the children themselves and their relationships with us.”
