Families Together is our parent and carer partnership programme, created to invite and involve parents and carers into school to work in partnership and support their children’s social and emotional development.

Families Together programme contents include:

  • Families Together manual – a handy A5 manual that details all the session plans, rationale, workshop format, suggested schedule and supporting resources, etc. in an easy-to-follow, specific and consistent format to support pastoral staff.
  • Access to Hamish & Milo Online – Families Together – for digital access to the session plans plus templates, activities, impact tools, posters and video links, etc.
  • Supporting resources – all supportive resources, such as activity templates, models, handouts and posters, are available in downloadable format for easy use.
  • ‘Insight & Activity’ cards (18 sets of 10 cards) – to be given out to caregivers at the end of each workshop session, they detail the key thoughts, reflections and suggested activities to do at home.

  • 18 Family Voice questionnaires – for family members to complete at the start and on completion of Families Together to measure impact and record feedback.
  • 3 Sock puppet pet craft kits – including socks, googly eyes, buttons, felt, pom-poms, pipe cleaners, ribbons and fabric glue in drawstring backpacks – for the family sock puppet pet activity.

  • A set of Sensation & Emotion Cards

  • 36 Families Together certificates of appreciation – to celebrate completion and being a team!
  • 10 sheets (200) stickers – for parents, carers and family members to show appreciation to each other.

  • 90-minute training – to share programme content and approach and build facilitator confidence.

Each programme pack is shipped with enough stock to facilitate three Families Together groups, one per academic term. We suggest that you run your Families Together groups with six children and their caregiver partners, so we provide enough resources to support 18 pairs. Top-up bundles are available.

If you have Navigator, you will also be able to track the impact of the Families Together alongside your other Hamish & Milo interventions.
