Hamish & Milo is designed to be fully inclusive and is highly suitable for neurodivergent children. The resources are built around social and emotional learning (SEL) principles that support all children in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and social connection, regardless of their neurotype.
Each session uses a consistent, structured format with clear routines, visual supports, and predictable activities — all of which help create a sense of safety and reduce anxiety for neurodivergent learners. The use of creative activities such as story, arts, puppets and role play allows children to engage in ways that best suit their individual communication styles and strengths.
Because the approach is relational and nurturing, facilitators can adapt pace, language, and sensory input to meet diverse needs. This flexibility ensures that children with autism, ADHD, or other neurodivergent profiles can participate meaningfully, express themselves, and develop wellbeing skills within a supportive group environment.
