Hamish & Milo Festive Season Freebies 2025

This festive season we are sharing some joyful, wellbeing resources for primary schools, completely free. Here is the first – Our Kindness Advent Calendar!

The Festive Kindness Advent Calendar is designed to help children notice, practise and share simple acts of kindness throughout December. Its a beautiful 24-day calendar full of simple, age-appropriate acts of kindness to brighten the school day.

Each activity encourages empathy, emotional literacy, connection and pro-social behaviour, all at an age-appropriate level for primary pupils. It includes tick ‘star’ boxes which adds a sense of achievement and participation each day for the class.

This gentle, wellbeing-led resource can be used with whole classes, small groups, or as a daily routine to build a positive classroom culture and supports empathy, emotional literacy, listening, social skills and whole-class connection.

Your Festive Kindness Advent Calendar is a simple daily invitation for children to feel valued, included and empowered.

Some tips

  • Introduce the calendar - and talk about what kindness means, how it feels to give and receive it, and why small actions matter.

  • Page one is designed to go on the wall or be displayed somewhere in the classroom - and page two is the handouts for the children, in case ink heavy printing is an issue. Reveal each activity per day and let children tick off each day as they complete it.

  • Celebrate effort - some children may complete every square; others will manage one or two. All attempts count.
  • Build short reflection time - a one-minute daily check-in helps children notice the impact of kindness on themselves and others.
  • You could create a kindness display wall with photos, drawings or notes.
